Classic Cocktails for Your Father’s Day Cookout
Replicate the steakhouse experience with a stiff Manhattan or Old Fashioned. Add some cosmopolitan Euro vibes to your patio space with an Americano. Shake up a Classic Daiquiri for a Hemingway-inspired holiday. Pick one or two and serve up a special day he’ll remember all summer.
Manhattan:
- 2 oz. bourbon
- 1 oz. sweet vermouth
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Cherry for garnish
Stir ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Strain into a chilled glass and add the cherry garnish.
Old Fashioned:
- 2 oz. bourbon or rye whiskey
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1/4 oz. simple syrup
- Orange peel
Add the syrup, bitters and orange peel to a glass. Gently muddle the orange peel to release the citrus oils, add the whiskey, and stir. Add ice cubes and stir once more.
Americano:
- 1 1/2 oz. Campari
- 1 1/2 oz. sweet vermouth
- Club soda
- Orange slice for garnish
Pour the Campari and vermouth into an ice-filled glass. Top off with soda, stir and add the orange slice for garnish.
Classic Daiquiri:
- 2 oz. white rum
- 1 oz. fresh lime juice
- 1/2 oz. simple syrup
Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake to chill. Strain into a pre-chilled glass and serve.
